AI Accelerates Only When OKR Foundations Are in Place

When I talk to executives, if they have OKRs that are transparent across the organization, that follow the same syntax across the organization, that are maybe even hosted in one platform, or at least stored in the same format, if that foundation is there, then you can now really accelerate with AI. You can ask an Agentic AI, how am I doing? What are the OKRs that now as a leader I need to focus on? Where are teams that need my support? Which maybe are the most common bottlenecks that teams store and mention in there when they achieve their OKRs?

Once you have that foundation, it's really, really powerful. AI doesn't build that foundation, AI needs that foundation. There's a second camp of people that went through so-called OKR rollout and they don't have the foundation. If you don't have that, and everyone's using their own syntax for goals and storing it in a different syntax, then you just can't make use of AI as much. We see the companies that are solid and have discipline and have a really intention in this, they accelerate and the other ones are struggling even more.
