How OKRs and WorkBoard Reduce Busywork
When we introduce OKRs and a software system called Workboard, we see some major efficiency gains and major time savings. First of all, through aligning on outcomes, not outputs. An output is, for example, hey, I am recording podcast episodes. If that's really the goal, then fantastic, but for many organizations that's not necessarily the goal they actually want to achieve. For many it might be creating a new inbound flow of leads, so that might be a reason to create podcast episodes or a blog post. We are not necessarily aligning on the outputs, and then I have to track how are we doing for this episode, how we're doing for this blog post, but we are only aligning on the outcome that I'm actually trying to achieve. Those outcomes are less frequently changing, they are also requiring less status updates, then you can actually save a lot of time.
