One Goal Language Is a Leadership Skill

There are many, many skills a leader needs to develop that are important for this process. So, creating clear and really concrete objectives is one of those important skills, and that requires you to be a good communicator, meaning that, you are aware of which information the other party needs. That is something you're putting in into your goals. Then the whole organization needs to really make this work in the best case, you need to align on one syntax for your goals, and you need to think about goals in the same way because, if marketing is thinking about them as KPIs and then product is thinking about it as epics and Jira items and then sales is just thinking about it in terms of dollar signs, then it becomes really difficult to steer this ship as one, and it becomes multiple ships to steer. So, the training piece is important that everyone is aligned on the same language for goals.
